What's New For the 2021 Ford Mustang?

The new 2021 Ford Mustang now features several performance and safety upgrades. The CoPilot360 bundle that provides driver assistance technologies has been added to the standard features list. The Shelby GT350 and Mustang Bullitt trims were discontinued for the 2021 Ford Mustang lineup. Another new change to the lineup is the Carbon Fiber Handling package, now available with the 2021 Ford Mustang GT500 model.

2021 Mustang Trims & Features

The different trims available in the 2021 Ford Mustang lineup include the Ford Mustang EcoBoost, the EcoBoost Premium, the Mustang GT, the GT Premium, and the Mach 1. You get 17-inch wheels on the base EcoBoost trim level. This trim includes a healthy list of amenities such as a 4.2-inch center display and a 6-speaker audio system.

The EcoBoost Premium trim has a 9-speaker sound system, and you'll get 18-inch wheels. EcoBoost Premium also has an eight-inch display and comes with Sync 3 infotainment. Leather upholstery is standard on this trim and up. Summer tires are available, along with a larger radiator, a rear spoiler, a track-oriented suspension system, and an active exhaust. The GT includes parking sensors and a more powerful engine. The GT Premium adds performance-oriented brakes, tires, and a suspension system. The Mach 1 has a 12.3-inch multimedia display, leather and aluminum steering wheel, and a more powerful engine.

2021 Ford Mustang Horsepower

The 2021 Ford Mustang base EcoBoost model features a 2.3-liter turbocharged, four-cylinder engine producing 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, and a 10-speed automatic is optional. The 2021 Mustang GT models are fitted with a 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 460 hp. The Mach 1 gets the same V8 engine, but it's specially tuned to deliver 20 horsepower more.

Some of the driver assistance features provided by the standard CoPilot360 bundle include lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and automatic high-beam headlights. Other standard safety features include the rearview camera, the rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
