What's New For the 2020 Ford Super Duty?

Ford's F-Series Super Duty trucks are specially designed with a lightweight aluminum body and a unique chassis that's stronger and firmer than what is found in other Ford trucks. The 2020 Super Duty models have updated front and rear styling, and there's a new off-road Tremor package. Also, there's a new 7.3L gasoline V8 engine, and the diesel engine is now paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Properly equipped, the Ford Super Duty trucks can now tow in excess of 20,000 pounds, a rating that few competitors can even come close to.

2020 Ford Super Duty Is Impressive No Matter Which Trim You Choose

The Super Duty trucks are special versions of the F-Series models. These include the F-250, the F-350, and the super-powerful and rugged F-650. Most versions are offered in a total of six trims. The base model is the XL, and the next uplevel trim is the XLT. The mid-level Lariat and King Ranch trims pile on the goodies, and the range-topping Platinum and Limited trims come standard with most of the optional features offered on the lower trims.

All trims but the King Ranch can be purchased as either a regular cab, extended cab, or crew cab. The latter two styles are four-door models, and all cab styles can be purchased with either a medium-length or long bed. The longer bed measures a minimum of eight feet long.

The base model XL comes with a removable locking tailgate, telescoping tow mirrors, and a trailer tow package. The cabin features include vinyl flooring, air conditioning, and manual window operation. The XLT adds on cloth upholstery, power windows, heated exterior mirrors, cruise control, and the Sync 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch screen display. Smartphone app integration is also included.

The uplevel trims boast additional convenience features, including an upgraded stereo, power-retractable side steps, and a power tailgate. These trims also come with multi-contoured front seats, and the Limited trim boasts two-tone leather upholstery. This trim also comes standard with a sunroof. Power-adjustable pedals and a heated steering wheel are standard on the King Ranch trim. It's important to note that the King Ranch is available only as a crew cab model.
