What's New For the 2020 Ford Escape?
The short answer to this question is - everything! 2020 sees this vehicle being wholly redesigned and starting its fourth generation. Noticeable improvements are made to both acceleration and overall power as the Escape enters the next chapter of its story. Plus, a hybrid version will be available in 2020.

2020 Ford Escape Comes with an Amazing Array of Features
Drivers will have five different trim levels to look at with the new Escape. The first is known as the S. It comes with a 4.2" display for the sound system, which features six speakers. Also standard for this trim are daytime running lights, LED signature lights. The Escape comes standard with front and rear skid plates as well as stylish dual chrome exhaust tips. Going with the SE trim or higher means getting an 8" touchscreen with the SYNC 3 system.
This adds both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility to the Escape. Heated front seats, as well as ten-way power-adjustment for the driver's seat, are added as well. The SE Sport Hybrid stands out thanks to its 19" wheels featuring ebony-painted pockets. Inside, this trim gains a 12.3" fully digital instrument cluster. The SEL trim adds a convenient hands-free power liftgate and gives the Escape ActiveX upholstery. Finally, the Titanium trim gives this vehicle an impressive 10-speaker B&0 sound system that includes a subwoofer.
2020 Escape Powertrain and its Performance
There are several options when it comes to the powertrain for the 2020 Escape. First up is a turbocharged 1.5L three-cylinder that will generate 181-horsepower. Also available is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that will give you 250-horsepower. These engines are paired beautifully with an eight-speed automatic transmission. For the SE Sport Hybrid, the Escape has a 2.5L four-cylinder engine as well as an 88 kW electric motor. This engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission.
2020 Escape Safety Technologies
Safety features are plentiful in the 2020 Ford Escape. All trims come equipped with the Ford Co-Pilot360 package. This includes automatic high beams, a rearview camera, a lane-keeping system, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and pre-collision assist featuring automatic emergency braking. The SEL and Titanium trim levels get a reverse sensing system, which beeps at varying speeds depending on how close the driver gets to an obstacle. Also standard for the Titanium trim is the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ package. It gives the Escape adaptive cruise control featuring stop-and-go, evasive steering assist, and lane centering. Also included in this package is a voice-activated navigation system.
