Performance

The XL and XLT both use a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 offered in two outputs - 275 or 310 hp. The XL is equipped with 16-inch silver steel wheels with black hubcaps; the XLT upgrades to 16-inch steel wheels with full silver wheel covers.

Appearance

The Transit has a recognizable presence, and the XL and XLT vary in trim touches. The XLT's honeycomb mesh grille with a chrome surround contrasts with the XL's carbon black surround, altering the van's facial styling. Running boards are optional on both models. Features

The XL's center console is medium-sized; the XLT comes with a large console. If you want the most driver-assist tech available, the XLT is the choice - it includes standard Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage, which the XL doesn't include as standard.
