Specs at a Glance
The 2025 Ford Mustang is still one of the market's most exciting cars. Its classic silhouette, potent performance, and comfortable cabin continue to draw buyers. Many narrow their decision to the GT Fastback or Dark Horse trims. Here's a comparison of the two.
Performance
A lively 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 powers the Mustang GT Fastback, rated at 480 horsepower, delivering strong acceleration. You can choose a six-speed manual with rev-matching or a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Dark Horse also features a 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 with tuning that raises output to 500 horsepower. It's available with an uprated TREMEC six-speed manual or the 10-speed automatic. The Dark Horse adds a class-first Drift Brake, adaptive MagneRide suspension, and a high-performance braking system for track use.
Appearance
The GT Fastback features a muscular design with a distinctive high-gloss black grille and a vented hood. It has 18-inch Ebony Black aluminum wheels. Paint choices include Carbonized Gray Metallic, Race Red, and Vapor Blue Metallic.
The Dark Horse takes a more menacing approach with exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels, black headlight accents, and a larger rear spoiler. The exclusive color-shifting Blue Ember Metallic is available on this trim.
Features
The Mustang GT Fastback comes standard with a 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen and a digital gauge cluster. Co-Pilot360 driver-assist technologies, dual-zone automatic climate control, Track Apps, and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot are also included.
The Dark Horse upgrades the audio to a 12-speaker B&O premium system, while the GT Fastback comes standard with a six-speaker system.
