What's' New For the 2019 Ford Edge?

Debuting in the 2007 model year, the Ford Edge has since blossomed as one of the industry's best midsize crossovers due to its smooth ride, potent engines, and strong reliability ratings. Now in its second production cycle, the Edge received a mid-cycle refresh for 2019; it's the recipient of a vast array of additional standard features, and both front and rear styling are slightly redesigned. In addition, rather than the Sport trim of 2015 to 2018, the brand-new ST is now the vehicle's top-level variant.

The 2019 Edge Has Many Features Across Four Trims

The 2019 Ford Edge is available in four flavors: SE, SEL, Titanium, and the aforementioned ST. As a five-seater, the Edge provides a total interior volume of 153.1 cubic feet, with 39.2 cubic feet of it dedicated to cargo space. Sporting more standard convenience and comfort features than ever before, this midsize crossover starts off with cloth upholstery, cruise control, a Wi-Fi hotspot, remote keyless entry with push-button engine start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, FordPass Connect for smartphone-based remote access, six-speaker audio, SYNC for integrating infotainment, an AM/FM radio tuner, a smart-charging USB port, and a trial subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio.

At the SEL trim level, the Edge gets upgraded cloth seat trim, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10-way power driver's seat, a 6-way power front-passenger seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an upgraded infotainment system (i.e., SYNC 3). The Titanium trim level comes with leather upholstery, front-seat heating ability, driver-seat memory, a rear-seat back release feature (EasyFold), 10-way power on the front-passenger seat (instead of 6-way power), two smart-charging USB ports (instead of one), two driver-configurable 4.2-inch LCD displays in the instrument cluster, and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system. Unique to the ST are Miko insert-boosted leather upholstery, a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel with silver stitching and ST logo, remote start, a wireless charging pad, and a garage-door opener.

2019 Taurus Power & Performance

2019 Ford Edge Exterior FrontThe 2019 Edge uses Ford proprietary EcoBoost engines. However, on the SE, SEL, and Titanium trims, there is a twin-scroll turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline 4-cylinder engine that supplies 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque, while a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 engine that delivers 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque goes on the ST. Both engines have auto stop-start technology to eliminate idling, and they are attached to 8-speed automatic transmissions, which now include rotary gear shifters. Front-wheel drive is standard on the SE, SEL, and Titanium, while all-wheel drive is standard on the ST; you can opt for the all-wheel drivetrain on the non-ST trims.
