What's New for the 2018 Ford C-MAX?

Ford decided that this year's model will be the last in the line of C-MAX Ford's as the company has announced this will be the last year for the car. They also dropped the C-MAX Energi plug-in model, which only leaves the C-MAX hybrid from the 2017 model year. The model still boasts a comfortable and airy cabin that can be fun to drive for anyone.

Major Trims and Features in the C-MAX

As for the features for this fuel-efficient vehicle, there is the C-MAX SE and the C-MAX Titanium options for customers to choose from. Both offer the 17-inch aluminum wheels, a 10-way power adjustable passenger seat, and a panoramic fixed-glass roof. The SE model offers fewer features, such as dual-zone automatic climate control, 110-volt outlet, active grille shutters, and LED daytime running lights. For the Titanium version, Ford gave their customers a little more bang for their buck. It offers push-start ignition, Sync 3 with unique hybrid content and an 8-inch touchscreen, a 9-speaker Sony audio system with HD radio, heated front seats, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Titanium version of the C-MAX also offers a driver assist package that features a blind-spot monitoring system with rear-cross traffic alert. Both vehicle versions also come with a self-parking system and remote start optional.

As far as space in this smaller vehicle, the back seat passengers will have to squeeze into 36.5 inches of legroom while the passengers up front have slightly more room with 43.1 inches to stretch out their legs. There is also 24.5 inches of cargo room in the hatchback behind the rear seats, with that number expanding to 52.6 inches of room with the back seat folded down.

Mechanical Specs

2018 Ford C-MAXPeople are not going to buy this car for its amazing horsepower or 0-60 time, but since the inception of the vehicle type in 2013, Ford has upped the horsepower. In 2013, the 2.0-liter engine produces a paltry 141 horsepower and featured a 118-hp electric motor. The new 2018 version uses a 2.0-liter engine that combined with the electric engine, combines to have a total output of 188-horsepower. As for the 0-60 time, there won't be any world records, but in 8.1 seconds the time is not blazing fast, but it gets the job done. The 2018 version also has a city/highway EPA-rated 42/38 mpg rating. This means that the car can travel 550 miles on a single tank according to the EPAs default split of 55% city roads and 45% highway roads
