Ford Supports First Responders and Community During Los Angeles County Wildfires

Wildfires in Los Angeles, CA, recently caused widespread and devastating damage, leaving many residents homeless and extensive business losses in their wake. Even though the wildfires brought significant destruction, the auto industry—especially the iconic American automaker Ford Motors—has stepped in to help the community. Ford has declared plans to support affected community members and first responders as they begin recovery and rebuilding efforts.

How is Ford Helping?

Ford dealerships from 13 states in the Western US, together with Ford Philanthropy, have made a donation to the California Community Foundation's Wildlife Recovery Fund. They contributed $465,000 to help local organizations in California acquire the supplies and resources needed to assist community members. Additionally, the funds raised by Ford and its philanthropic branch benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. Beyond supporting the broader LA community, Ford offers displaced residents discounted pricing on Ford vehicles and deferred payment plans. Ford also provides free electric chargers for customers opting for an electric vehicle, and its employees are granted paid leave to aid in recovery efforts.

What Organizations Does Ford Support?

Ford's contributions benefit several organizations in the LA area. Notable groups include the American Red Cross, Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, and Team Rubicon. Together, these organizations are offering ongoing support to LA wildfire victims as they work to rebuild. The Red Cross continues to deliver shelter and essential items to displaced individuals, while Team Rubicon focuses on providing longer-term resources as victims await home restoration. Feeding America and the World Central Kitchen ensure that affected community members receive the necessary meals and food.

Special Electric Vehicle Support

Residents in the FEMA disaster area who own Ford and Lincoln vehicles are eligible for exclusive Ford incentives. These include reimbursement for all-electric vehicles charged at a charging station from January 7 - 31. Local Ford dealerships are also prepared to offer free charging adapters to customers who have lost their homes or are using an electric vehicle for disaster relief. Moreover, Ford is providing free replacements for customers whose home charging stations were lost in the wildfires.
