2020 Ford Explorer Co-Pilot360

Ford's Co-Pilot360 technology gives drivers a heightened sense of safety and security. This patented suite consists of several active safety features that are optimized for urban and suburban roads. Available in most of the latest Ford models, the patented package entered its second generation in 2020.

Pre-Collision Assist is one of the first features that was integrated into the Co-Pilot360 suite. Over the years, this accident-mitigation function has been improved. The Pre-Collision Assist analyzes your risk level of getting into a forward crash with another vehicle moving in front of you. If necessary, the Pre-Collision Assist will automatically turn on the Automatic Emergency Braking.

You will also feel more confident driving on busy highways thanks to the Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control. When traffic slows down or comes to a stop, the Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control will make the proper adjustments to your Ford model. The Speed Sign Recognition was integrated into the Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control in 2020, making it intelligent enough to read posted speed limit signs on the road.

Additionally, the next-generation cruise control system comes with the Lane Centering function, which is extremely useful for busy freeways with narrow lanes. With additional assistance from the Stop-and-Go feature, you won't have to depress the brake pedal in frustration. The Co-Pilot360 technology also has other functions that prevent your Ford vehicle from swaying and swerving out of control. For example, the Lane-Keeping System will help you stay in a single lane by adjusting the steering system. The Blind Spot Information System® (BLIS) is another function that comes in handy for changing lanes on busy highways. BLIS® ensures that you're aware of any cars in your blind zones.

Ford's Co-Pilot360 suite comes with several other driving aides that are optimized for parking in urban areas. The Active Park Assist 2.0 provides a helping hand with steering a Ford vehicle into a parking spot. Some models are available with the Reverse Brake Assist, which prevents you from crashing into stationary or moving cars behind you. Additionally, the Cross-Traffic Alert will issue notifications in the dashboard if other automobiles approach from behind. Live videos appear on the SYNC 3 display with optimum clarity. Some Ford trims even have multiple cameras that generate composite or 360-degree views.
